Andy Hicks was the founder and CEO of HIX, an IT services firm specializing in the dental industry. Throughout his career, Andy was driven by a simple but powerful belief: that security and usability should never be at odds.

In April 2022, under Andy's leadership, HIX selected Identillect Technologies to provide secure, encrypted email services via its Delivery Trust® platform — ensuring HIPAA compliance for the transmission of patient health information across the dental practices HIX served.

Andy was a tireless advocate for practical security. He understood that while free email services alone are not HIPAA compliant, the right solution could integrate seamlessly with popular clients like Gmail and Outlook — securing communications without compromising the everyday usability that professionals depend on.

That philosophy is security that respects the people who use it remains woven into the work we continue today as we celebrate Andy's life.
